A key moment for Momint came in March 2022, when they hosted Africa’s largest NFT auction. During this event, they sold Nelson Mandela’s original arrest warrant for a staggering two Million rand. The profits from this sale went on to fund the restoration of Liliesleaf heritage site, preserving vital historical documents from South Africa's struggle for democracy.
Continuing their mission to create positive change, Momint launched the SunCash initiative in January 2023. Aimed at addressing South Africa’s energy crisis, SunCash offers a cost-effective solution by allowing individuals to purchase solar cells for as little as R85. Not only does this promote renewable energy adoption, but it also enables users to sell their solar energy back to public institutions through a Standard Power Purchase Agreement.
